Facilities and Equipment
Dr. Thomas is a Board Certified Glaucoma Specialist. Our office offers the most advanced technology for diagnosing eye disease in its early stage. Dr. Thomas is committed to treating patients before they lose their sight.
With the new Zeiss GDX Nerve Fiber Analyzer it is possible to detect glaucoma before visual field loss. Unlike the puff test, this instrument actually lets Dr. Thomas see the nerve fibers in the back of your eyes. If your nerve fibers are thinner than normal, this could indicate glaucoma long before any vision has been lost. As a result, there is more time to treat the disease
Zeiss i.Terminal™ is an integrated digital system, which provides our eyeglass patients with precise lens fitting and measurements. The instrument measures monocular inter-pupillary distances, fitting heights, pantoscopic angle, vertex distance, and frame wrap automatically. It also creates photo images and provides interactive demonstrations of lens enhancements. Plus, i.Terminal™ allows advanced progressive lens customization using free-form Technology. In addition, patients can capture and review images of themselves wearing a variety of frame styles, displaying the computerized images for review and comparison while wearing their own eyeglasses. It is also great for comparing colored contact lenses. No more trying to pick out a frame with blurred vision from dilation or without the help of your glasses. Now it is simple to make your selection with confidence. Digital technology enables you to:
View your frame selection from different angles.
See yourself in a variety of eyewear styles simultaneously.
*Compare lens options, like anti-reflective and progressive lenses and colored contact lenses.
The Octopus 311 Technology provides a comprehensive visual field examination. This exam is essential for the diagnosis and treatment of many eye disorders and diseases. The visual field exam tests for glaucoma, central or peripheral retinal disease, eyelid conditions such as ptosis (drooping eyelids), and optic nerve diseases affecting the visual pathways within the brain.
Optomap : The optomap® Retinal Exam produces an image that is as unique as you fingerprint and provides Doctor Thomas with a wide view to look at the health of your retina. The retina is the part of your eye that captures the image of what you are looking at, similar to film in a camera.
Many eye problems can develop without you knowing. You may not even notice any change in your sight. But, diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinal tears or detachments, and other health problems such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be seen with a thorough exam of the retina.
An optomap® Retinal Exam provides:
1) A scan to show a healthy eye or detect disease.
2) A view of the retina, giving your doctor a more detailed view than he/she can get by other means.
3) The opportunity for you to view and discuss the optomap® image of your eye with your doctor at the time of your exam.
4) A permanent record for your file, which allows Dr Thomas to view your images each year to look for changes.
The optomap® Retinal Exam is fast, easy, and comfortable for all ages. To have the exam, you simply look into the device one eye at a time and you will see a comfortable flash of light to let you know the image of your retina has been taken. The optomap® image is shown immediately on a computer screen so we can review it with you.
Please schedule your optomap® Retinal Exam today!

Dr. Thomas is excited to offer you a state of the art glaucoma and retinal health assessment. Dr. Thomas has added this latest advanced technology to her practice in an effort to detect and mitigate diseases that cause blindness.
The Cirrus HD-OCT performs a powerful test to help doctors identify early signs of problems in your eyes which can lead to irreversible blindness. Diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy tend to progress without any pain in the early stages. Age is a major risk factor for development of many eye conditions. That is why it is vital to get tested for these conditions early with the Cirrus HD-OCT. The earlier a disease is discovered, the less difficult it is to treat. Call or come in today to schedule your Cirrus HD-OCT exam.
